Does this mean it wouldn't be offensive if a furisode were worn to an actual coming-of-age ceremony like a quinceanera?  It's not like Sakurafox ever had the chance to participate in a Japanese coming-of-age ceremony or festival.

If it's offensive to wear a furisode outside of certain ceremonies, how do the dresses ever get modeled?

Lovely art, by the way.
1: it wouldn't be offensive if it were actually worn to a ceremony in which furisode are worn (and when i say "coming of age ceremony" i mean 成人式) and on a person and not, a fursuit in a convention being worn by a white person whose experience with japanese culture is a cursory and shallow fascination that is detached from the people themselves and detached from any sort of respect other than "i want this"

sakurafox didn't have the chance to participate in 成人式 and even if they did get the chance to have one, they wouldn't wear their fursuit to it. i didn't wear my fursuit to mine.

2: the robes are modeled by and large i assume by japanese people, for the people who are planning on renting / buying them, which is valid context. not to mention it's not racist if it's actually your culture (and thus, you understand the situations in which they're worn). it'd be out of place and a bit awkward yes but a japanese person wouldn't be enacting violence on their own culture by putting on a furisode or other sort of kimono outside of actual wearing situations.

i sincerely don't want to discuss these issue with furries of all people. so please leave me alone
wow you are really good! ^^
